MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Milwaukee Public Schools have announced they will be closed Monday, January 6, due to the extremely cold and dangerous weather conditions.
The closure includes all after school activities. Superintendent Gregory Thornton says, "I simply will not have students, many of whom walk blocks to school or wait on the corners for busses, and staff exposed to bitter weather conditions."
Extreme cold weather is also forecast for Tuesday, January 7. MPS will monitor the conditions.
