MADISON (WKOW) -- This bitterly cold winter isn't stopping the Meals on Wheels program from delivering hot meals to the elderly, but they are in need of more volunteers.
Home Health United's Meals on Wheels program provides meals everyday around noon to individuals in need in Madison, Middleton, Sun Prairie, and Monona.
In addition to meal delivery, volunteers provide safety checks on recipients and may deliver free newspapers.
There are many opportunities to help out depending on the amount of time someone can give.

Julie Hitt, a Meals on Wheels volunteer and a Registered Nurse with Home Health United, joined us on 27 News at 5 on Friday to talk about the need for volunteers.
