Fire guts Waterford landmark


WATERFORD (WKOW) -- Fire gutted a historic building in the Racine County town of Waterford early Friday morning.

The four alarm fire totaled Martini Mo's, a local landmark for 140-years.

It was ten degrees below zero when crews got the call at about four o'clock Friday morning.

Fire hydrants froze up, but crews were able to get water by pumping directly out of the nearby Fox River.

A total of 29 fire departments sent crews to Waterford.

No one was hurt in the fire, no word on the cause.
