Madison College administrator dies after heart attack

MADISON (WKOW) -- Faculty and staff members at Madison Area Technical College are mourning the loss of their co-worker and friend, Lorin Toepper.

Toepper suffered a heart attack and died Friday, January 3 at his home, according to an email sent to faculty and staff by Provost Terry Webb.

Toepper was 53, he served as Madison College's executive director of economic and workforce development at the school's West campus.

He was the chairperson of Startup Weekend Madison, a program bringing together entrepreneurs to encourage collaboration on projects and form new startup companies. Toepper also co-founded the Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship.

Webb says funeral arrangements are pending.
