PORTAGE (WKOW) -- Officials in Columbia County tell 27 News a state grant to fund a new OWI court has been approved.
The plan has been in the works for months. Columbia County Health and Human Services Director Dawn Woodard says they requested $136,000. They haven't been told yet how much of the grant was approved.
The OWI court will give certain offenders more treatment options instead of jail time.
