MADISON (WKOW) -- An annual winter tradition goes airborne again this weekend.
Thursday night, local kids were practicing for Sunday's 67th annual Blackhawk ski jumping tournament.
It's a national qualifying tournament for the Junior Olympics, so jumpers from around the country will be here.
Blackhawk ski club has produced three U.S. Olympic ski jumpers, Dave Norby and Bill Bakke in 1968 and Kurt Stein, who's now a Blackhawk coach, in 1992 and '94.
"Knowing that Olympians have come from here, some people say this hill isn't good enough, but it's obviously good enough to produce Olympians. It just inspires us to keep working to be like the guys who where here before us," said jumper Finn Gessner.
Jumpers will be practicing at Blackhawk on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. To 3:00 p.m. and Sunday morning from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
The competition begins at noon on Sunday.
