SPOKANE, WA (WKOW)-- The season has officially ended for the Packers, but they are still making some impressive plays off the field. Packers linebacker, Clay Matthews, delivered a late Christmas present to a Washington teen who has spent the past 140 days in the hospital.
16-year-old Samantha Denault is a life long Packers fan and joked that for Christmas she wanted someone to gift wrap Clay Matthews for her. Somehow, Matthews heard of the teen's request and recorded a special message just for her stating
"Hi Samantha, this is Clay Matthews, linebacker for the Green Bay Packers. I just want to commend you on being so strong, especially in light of your many illnesses and surgeries you've been going through".
Samantha says that Clay's kind message has opened her eyes to the fact that there are lots of caring people in the world outside of just family and friends. Samantha's family also states that the worst of her health issues are now behind her.
