MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man who's been convicted of sex crimes involving more than half a dozen women was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for making videotapes of one his victims.
29-year old Brian Stowe told federal Judge Barbara Crabb he was ashamed over what he did.
In October, 2012, Stowe shared a bar time cab ride with a 17-year old girl and later sexually assaulted her after she passed out after drinking. Stowe videotaped the teen while she was nude. The girl briefly woke up, and later contacted authorities.
Stowe's arrest led to the discovery of videotapes of his victimization of other women after they passed out. The women were the former high-tech worker's friends and co-workers. Stowe was convicted of twenty seven sex crimes in state court, and faces sentencing for those crimes in March.
Crabb described Stowe as possessing a Master's Degree in business, bright, talented, and helpful to people at times. But Crabb said she's unable to fathom what motivated Stowe to act as a predator, noting "...you turn into a different kind of creature."
Crabb also said Stowe's actions with the teenager highlights the "horrible risk" young women take when they binge drink.
Crabb said whatever sentence Stowe receives in state court in connection to the other victims will be tacked on to his federal sentence.
