MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say the driver of a pickup truck was taken to the hospital after a semi trailer landed on top of his vehicle.

Officers say the semi jackknifed on the off-ramp from the westbound Beltline to northbound Stoughton Road. The semi landed on the truck, pinning the driver inside.

Police on scene say the pickup driver, a 67-year-old man, was pinned for about 45 minutes. They say crews were able to pull him out and he was taken to the hospital. Officers tell 27 News that the driver is said to be in stable condition.

Police say there were about a dozen other slide-offs in the area due to the icy conditions, but there are no reports of any injuries from those incidents.
