Hudson River pilot to speak in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH (AP) -- The pilot who helped land a US Airways flight safely into the Hudson River will speak about his experience in Oshkosh.

On January 15, 2009, Jeff Skiles was a co-pilot for the US Airways plane that was struck by a flock of geese shortly after takeoff from New York City.

Skiles and Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger successfully landed the aircraft on the river with more than 150 people on board.  Everyone on board escaped safely.

Skiles will speak Thursday at the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture Museum.  He is currently EAA's vice president of communities and member programs.
