GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Grant County Sheriff's Office is looking for help locating a suspected poacher.

The Sheriff's Office says at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, someone traveling on County Highway N, between Burton and North Dutch Hollow Road in rural Grant County, saw an eight-point whitetail buck in a wooded area near the road and shot the deer from the highway.

A passerby later saw the deer and notified authorities.  A deputy sheriff and game warden responded and saw the bullet hole in the deer.

Anyone with information about this suspected poaching case is asked to contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office at (608)723-2157 or the Wisconsin DNR at (800)TIP-WDNR.
