Winter Weather Advisory & Warnings for our viewing area


MADISON (WKOW) -- A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for much of southwestern Wisconsin.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Columbia, Dodge, Juneau, Adams, Marquette and Green Lake Counties as an Alberta Clipper tracks through the region. The warning for Dodge County is good until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. The warnings for Marquette, Green Lake, and Columbia, Juneau and Adams Counties are in effect until 12:00 a.m. Wednesday.

About 2-5 inches was expected in our area. About 3 inches fell in Baraboo and Portage, with about 2 inches in Madison and 1.2 inches in Jefferson.

A little more light snow is possible Wednesday night into Thursday, though amounts should be an inch or less.

Yet another round is anticipated Friday night into Saturday morning.


MADISON (WKOW) -- Every county in the 27 News viewing area is under some form of a weather warning on Tuesday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight Monday to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the following counties: Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Lafayette, Marquette, Richland, Rock, Sauk and Walworth.

Dodge County has a Winter Storm Warning that is active from 7 a.m. Tuesday to midnight Tuesday night.

27 Storm Track Meteorologist Ben Burkel says light snow will begin falling just before sunrise Tuesday and should end around 10 p.m. Tuesday. About two to five inches will fall, with more expected in our northern counties and lower totals in the southern counties.

Blowing snow could also be a problem, so make sure to give yourself extra time to get to work Tuesday morning and then back home again Tuesday evening.
