Armed robbery at the Tobacco Outlet store in Monona


MONONA (WKOW) -- Around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Monona Police officers were called to the Tobacco Outlet store on Monona Drive for the report of an armed robbery.

Employees state they were robbed of cash and merchandise by a man armed with a handgun.  A witness observed the suspect run across an open field just north of the store.  A perimeter was established and a K-9 brought in to track.  The track ended in the 6200 block of Roselawn Avenue, near Monona and Broadway.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early to mid 20's.  He stands approximately 5'7" with a medium build, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt under a black hooded sweatshirt.
