MADISON (WKOW)-- A buffer zone to protect from harassment could be established at abortion clinics in Madison. A majority of City Council members are in support of creating this privacy measure.
The State Journal says that the proposal would ban protesters from being within 8 feet of a person on public property within a 160 foot protective zone. Vigil for Life, an abortion opponent group, states that its volunteers already respect the clinic's private property which creates a buffer already.
The Madison Planned Parenthood clinic is one of four abortion providers in Wisconsin.
