JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A shopping option in Janesville is closing its doors.
The J.C. Penney store is shutting down.
The retailer is closing 33 stores across the country by early May.
Four other locations in Wisconsin will be shuttered -- in Fond du Lac, Rhinelander, Rice Lake and Wausau.
Overall, 2,000 jobs will be cut. 71 employees in Janesville will be affected.
J.C. Penney says it is closing under performing stores and it will save about $65 million a year due to the moves.
