MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources granted Gogebic Taconite another exploratory drilling license Thursday.
The company drilled eight test holes in the Penokee Hills in northern Wisconsin last year. The license for that project expires June 30 and the company asked the DNR earlier this month for another license to drill 15 more holes.
Gogebic is planning a huge iron mine.
