Gun run over by vehicle discharges; Milwaukee teen arrested

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Milwaukee police arrested a 14-year-old boy armed with a handgun around 11:00 Thursday morning.
Officers approached the boy outside Grand Avenue Mall to investigate his possible truancy.  At that time, the boy threw the gun.
The weapon discarded was driven over by a passing vehicle, causing one round to be fired.  No one was injured.
The boy struggled with officers before eventually being taken into custody.  In addition to an open warrant for crimes including burglary and auto theft, the teen is a suspect in an armed robbery.  He's also wanted as a runaway from an area group home.  He faces possible charges of resisting and possession of a dangerous weapon by a child.
