Plea hearing today for man accused of bringing Molotov cocktails into Capitol
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison man accused of bringing Molotov cocktails into the state Capitol last year will be in court today.
Kvon Smith will appear for a plea hearing. Authorities say Smith took a backpack into the Capitol with what he told police contained Molotov cocktails. Police say they later learned the devices were neither flammable nor explosive.
Officials say they were tipped off about the explosives through Facebook because Smith posted a video of the devices to the site. He has been charged with two felonies: possession of Molotov cocktails and bail jumping.
