BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Led by a four goal second period, the No. 2 Wisconsin women's hockey team blitzed Bemidji State, 6-0, on Friday at the Sanford Center.
The Badgers were paced by sophomore Katy Harding and junior Brittany Ammerman, who each tallied two goals and an assist in the Wisconsin triumph. Fellow junior Blayre Turnbull also tallied three points with two assists and a goal, while junior Karley Sylvester also added a goal for the Cardinal and White.
Freshman goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens improved to 10-1-0 on the season and made 19 saves.
After a scoreless first period, the UW offense erupted in the final two periods, scoring six goals in a 23 minute span to improve to 18-3-2 on the season and 14-3-2 in WCHA contests.
UW and BSU meet again Saturday in a 2 p.m. tilt to conclude the series.
