MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Gov. Scott Walker was a speaker at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin's Advanced Manufacturing Conference on Saturday.
The governor discussed the skills gap in our state and presented awards for the Hispanic Business of the Year and Manufacturer of the Year.
Governor Walker was one of five speakers. He said offering tax credits and workforce training is key to job creation and economic growth in manufacturing.
"We've taken a concerted effort to make it easier for employers to create jobs, to put more money back into particularly manufacturing so that manufacturers can make capitol investments and ultimately lead to more jobs," says Walker.
Governor Walker will give his State of the State address Wednesday night in front of a joint session of the state legislature.
