MADISON (WKOW) -- An event in Madison aims to show the public the struggles homeless people in our area go through every day.
The Homeless Home Art Show combines music, poetry and photography, depicting the lives of homeless people in Madison.
Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson spoke at the event, asking for the public's help to put an end to homelessness.
"This is a big enough community that we can tackle it, but it's also a small enough community where its intimate enough that we can bring all the appropriate people together to tackle this particular issue," Johnson tells 27 News.
Earlier this winter, Johnson and two other community leaders lived on the streets for three days and nights, to see what the homeless experience is like.
