WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- One of Kraft Velveeta products has been recalled due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen.
Truitt Brothers Inc., a Kentucky firm, recalled product is the 3.3 pound cases of six microwaveable containers of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac with a used by date from March 2nd until October 23rd. This is the only product impacted by this recall.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall saying the products are made with hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, both are known allergens, without saying so on some labels.
Currently, there have been no reports of adverse reactions due to the mac and cheese product. Officials are working to make sure the product is no longer available to consumers.
The products were produced between May last year and this month, and they were shipped nationwide.
