CLYMAN (WKOW) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the woman killed in a crash Sunday.
The accident happened just after 9:00 Sunday morning on County M near County J in the Township of Clyman.
Initial investigation shows 77-year-old John Wellman, of Jefferson, was traveling north on County M when he lost control on the snow covered, slippery road. The vehicle struck a railroad signal gate crossing just south of County J.
Wellman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to Watertown Hospital. His passenger, 77-year-old Helen Wellman, was taken via Flight for Life to Aurora Medical Center in Summit and was pronounced dead in the Emergency Room.
Assisting the Dodge County Sheriff's Office were: Town of Emmet/Lebanon Police, Watertown Fire and Paramedics, Juneau EMS, Clyman Fire Department, Clyman First Responders, and the Dodge County Sheriff's Office Chaplain.
The accident remains under investigation.
