MADISON (WKOW) -- Several hundred students took part in the Martin Luther King Youth Day of Service and Science and the Wisconsin Institute of Discovery.
The event gave students the opportunity to learn about everything from geology, to community building through a number of different exhibits and workshops.
Johanna Taylor, an Outreach Specialist with AmeriCorps VISTA says, "Our goal as organizers for the event was to really get kids interested and excited about the sciences, and also really empowered and motivated to go out and do community service."
Monday's event was free and open to all middle and high school students in Dane County.
