JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The train that derailed early Wednesday morning in Janesville has been cleared from the scene.
The derailment closed the Five Points Intersection. The roadway is now open as of 9:30 a.m. It had been closed since around 5:30 a.m.
JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Two grain carts went off the tracks in Janesville early Wednesday morning, forcing the closure of an intersection.
Janesville Police say cars should adjust their travel to accommodate the blockage at the Five Points Intersection and Academy St. near E. Centerway St. More, traffic cannot travel east or west on Court St.
Authorities say the derailment poses no health risk to residents, as the train cars were carrying grain. No cars tipped over.
As of 6:00 a.m. police were putting up barricades to divert traffic before the morning commute. They anticipate the road being blocked for at least two hours.
