Purdue University reopens building where student was shot

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WKOW) -- Purdue University reopened its Electrical Engineering Building at noon Wednesday, a day after police say one student shot and killed another in a basement classroom of the building.

Purdue police say they haven't been able to determine why 23-year-old Cody Cousin shot 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wisconsin.

A university spokeswoman declined to say whether any other students were in the room at the time, but no other injuries were reported.

Purdue Police Chief John Cox says witnesses believed the shooting was intentional, but investigators have yet to uncover any past troubles between Cousins and Boldt.

Cousins is being held on a preliminary charge of murder.
