RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WKOW) -- Subzero temperatures have forced organizers of the Special Olympics Wisconsin outdoor winter games in central Wisconsin to cancel the games, disappointing more than 200 athletes from around the state.
This marks the second consecutive year the outdoor games have been canceled due to weather, with last year's games scrapped because of a lack of snow.
Indoor activities associated with the games, including a dance Saturday night at the Holiday Inn in Rothschild, will go on as planned.
Saturday wind chills could hit 15 below zero with Sunday slightly colder.
