BEAVER DAM (WKOW) -- Beaver Dam police say the man found deceased on a frozen retention pond Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 51-year-old Robert Freund.
Authorities do not suspect foul play was involved in Freund's death. The vehicle found running nearby belonged to Freund.
The Dodge County Medical Examiner's Office ordered an autopsy, which was performed Wednesday, January 22. The exact cause of death is pending toxicology results, which can take up to several weeks.
Hypothermia is believed to have played a significant role in Freund's death, however, circumstances as to how he ended up on the frozen retention pond is still under investigation.
