Polar Dash encourages children and families to get active

MADISON (WKOW) -- On the bitter cold days we've been seeing, it's easy to stay inside on the couch, but it's important for kids and families to be active year-round.

That's why Meriter and Physicians Plus are once again hosting the Polar Dash this weekend. Polar Dash is part of the GO Get Out! Campaign developed by Physicians Plus to help fight childhood obesity and inactivity in our community.

The 7th annual Polar Dash is free and open to the public. It's being held at the Meriter Monona Clinic on Saturday from 10 a.m. to12 p.m.

Dr. Neil Brown, with the Meriter Medical Group, joins us on 27 News at 5 on Friday to talk about the event.
