HUDSON (WKOW) -- A judge has ordered a man convicted of killing his three daughters to pay more than $25,000 in restitution and court costs.
St. Croix County Circuit Judge Howard Cameron ruled Friday that Aaron Schaffhausen must pay the girls' mother, Jessica Peterson, more than $14,000 in restitution. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the money would compensate her for an emergency room visit from the day of the killings, counseling and lost wages. The judge also ordered him to pay more than $10,000 for witness costs.
Schaffhausen is not currently working in prison, and prosecutors say it remains to be seen if he will ever pay the money in full.
Schaffhausen is serving a life sentence for killing his three girls at their River Falls home in July of 2012.
