MADISON (WKOW) -- An assemblywoman from Madison wants to make marijuana legal in Wisconsin.
Democrat Melissa Sargent is circulating a bill that would legalize pot for recreational and medicinal purposes.
Sargent says she believes the move would address racial disparities in drug arrests, provide medical benefits and save time and money for police departments.
The bill is unlikely to pass the republican-controlled legislature.
