PORTAGE (WKOW) -- Portage Police Department has declared a snow emergency for Central Business District only.

In the Central Business District, parking is prohibited from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday.

Violators could be fined and towed.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison has declared a snow emergency in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday.

City of Madison says main streets should be passable, but most residential streets and other roadways are snow covered.  They suggest giving yourself extra time for traveling.

Snow will be blowing and drifting tonight and tomorrow and cause problems during the morning commute.

Remember to not park cars on the street overnight if at all possible.  If you do need to park on the street, park on the odd numbered side of the street Sunday night, and the even numbered side Monday night.  Violators could be fined and towed.

Parking is available in the cashiered sections of city ramps downtown.  During a snow emergency, you an park at the ramps from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for free if you enter and leave within that time frame.  Do not park on the top level of the ramps.

Parking is also available at the Brittingham Park Shelter parking lot off of W. Washington Ave.

BELOIT (WKOW) -- The City of Beloit has declared a snow emergency lasting from early Sunday morning until Sunday afternoon.

It will be in effect from 3 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday.  During this time, parking on the street is prohibited.

Residents are encouraged to stay at home and only travel when necessary.  When traveling, use extreme caution.

Here is a list of alternative parking.

Krueger Park Upper Parking Lot – Hackett St. at House St. (entire lot).

Krueger Golf Course Lot - 1611 Hackett Street (south lot).

Wootten Park – 4th Street at Maple Avenue (south end between signs)

Riverside Park Rotary Center - 1220 Riverside Drive (two center rows between signs)

Riverside Park Jones Shelter – access via west bound Portland Avenue (entire lot)

Angel Museum - 656 Pleasant Street (all areas)

Iron Works South Parking Lot - 3rd Street & Grand Avenue (west side of lot between signs)

Iron Works North Parking Lot – Ironworks & 3rd Street (north end between signs)

Fourth 4th Street Public Parking – Westside of 4th Street between La Casa Grande & Brass Rail (center rows between signs)

West Grand Public Parking - 229 West Grand Avenue (between signs)

Telfer Park Parking Lot - 2100 Cranston Road (between signs)
