MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Metropolitan School District will be open on Monday.
The district posted the following statement on it's website Sunday night.
All Madison Schools will be open on Monday, January 27. While there will be cold temperatures, we are expecting a wind chill advisory, not a warning for tomorrow. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the cold weather.
When making weather-related decisions, we consult with local meteorologists, the city streets department, our bus companies and our facilities management. With that information, we make a decision that we believe is responsible and in the best interest of all of our students. However, we always encourage families to make a decision that is best for your child.
Extreme cold conditions are in the forecast for Tuesday, January 28. We encourage families to monitor the local news and our website, www.mmsd.org, for decisions about school on Tuesday.
