UPDATE: Crews sanding, salting roads Monday morning

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Dane County Highway Department says they have nearly 60 crews out plowing surrounding areas and rural roads.

County officials say that is drifting snow throughout the area and their crews have run into slippery spots. There have been a few slide offs already this morning, and the department recommends driving slowly and with caution throughout Monday, as the wind does not appear to be dying down.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Streets Department says they have been out all night sanding roads in time for the Monday morning commute.

City officials had more than 30 crews out early Monday morning, and say they will begin their salt routes at 7:00 a.m.

They say that everything has been plowed, and describe the roads as "not too bad." However, they recommend people exercise caution if they are heading out today, and to stay well behind any plows they see on the roads.
