Wind Chill Warning in effect for much of southern WI


MADISON (WKOW) -- A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for all of southern Wisconsin from 9 p.m. Monday night until noon Tuesday for wind chill readings between -35 to -45 degrees.

Temperatures will approach record low levels Tuesday morning.

With these wind chills, frostbite can occur in as little as 10 minutes.

The bitterly cold air will stick around until mid-day Wednesday when temperatures finally return above zero again.  The next threat of very light snow will be early Thursday morning.
