State Trooper hit by spinning car in Winnebago Co.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper is recovering from serious injuries Monday, after he was pinned between his squad car and another vehicle along a slippery Winnebago County highway Sunday.

State police say the trooper was investigating a crash and standing near the back of his squad car on Highway 41, near Menasha, when another car spun out of control, struck him and pinned him against his cruiser. The trooper was rushed to the hospital.

The driver of the car wasn't injured.

WLUK-TV reports the highway was closed for several hours during the crash investigation.
