MADISON (WKOW) -- It's National Self Defense Month, so now's a great time to learn some of those basic moves to get you out of a tricky spot. And there's a place in Madison you can do that for free.

The Academy of Hwa Rang Do Madison West has been providing free self defense classes on the second Saturday of every month for the past two years. The classes are one hour and no previous experience is required.

Topics participants can learn range from bully prevention, basic striking, weapon defense, joint manipulation and ground defense.
