ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- A Beloit man was arrested for his 7th Operating While Intoxicated offense after authorities found him asleep behind the wheel of his truck.
Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff's Department and Janesville EMS were called to S LaPrairie Town Hall Rd. near E Maple Ln. Tuesday night when they were informed of a vehicle running on the side of the road with a man who appeared to be unconscious in the driver's seat.
Officials found 43-year-old Jimmy Walls, from Beloit, sleeping in the driver's seat. They were able to wake him up, and while talking with deputies Walls admitted to drinking alcohol. After a field sobriety test, Walls was arrested for his 7th OWI. While on scene deputies also found an open bottle of liquor in the cab of the pickup.
Walls was transported to the Rock County Jail where he submitted to a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of .279. He was booked into jail for Operating While Intoxicated 7th offense and a Probation Violation. Walls was also cited for Possession of an Open Intoxicant.
