COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Portage Daily Register reports a rural Poynette man could face 25 years in prison for making a sexually explicit video with a five-year-old girl.
Jay Skare, 55, is accused of making a 20-minute video with a little girl. In the video, Skare is interacting with the child in a sexually explicit manner, including a discussion of sexualized behavior and touching.
At the request of the Columbia County Department of Health and Human Services, the sheriff's department was called to investigate the video. It was determined the video was made last week.
Skare is currently charged with sexual exploitation of a child-filming. That charge carries a maximum initial penalty of 25 years in prison. Monday, he was ordered held on $2,000 cash bail.
Skare is scheduled for a preliminary hearing February 6.
