RACINE (WKOW) -- Former Racine Mayor Gary Becker was released from custody on an alleged probation violation. He was arrested on January 17th for what officials say were treatment violations.
Becker held the position of Mayor from 2003 to 2009 until he was arrested in connection with an online sex sting where he went to the mall to meet a 14-year-old girl. Becker was charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement, he served a 3 year sentence for that crime. He is currently serving 5 years of extended supervision in which he cannot have contact with minors.
The Journal Times reports that Becker was released from the Sturtevant Transitional Facility on Tuesday. Becker has declined to comment on his latest arrest.
