MADISON (WKOW) -- A number of UW athletes came together for the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery Science Saturday program this weekend. The event features a number of science experiments centered around a different theme each month.
Saturday's event focused on Badger Athletics. Many UW athletes, including Badger running back Melvin Gordon, were busy helping kids learn about how science is involved in their favorite sports. Children also had the option to draw and work on art projects in addition to the science activities.
"I'm just going around from station to station just trying to see as many kids as I can," says Badgers running back Melvin Gordon. "I'm actually doing some things myself! I'm just trying to have as much fun as I can."
Science Saturday is held the first weekend of every month. The event is free and open to the public. Children of all ages and their families are welcome to attend.
