MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison community was invited to the Monona Terrace on Sunday for its re-opening celebration.
The facility has been working to update and improve the convention center for the past month. New electronic room signs, new carpeting, and environmentally-friendly light fixtures and plumbing are among the improvements that have been made. Gregg McManners, executive director of Monona Terrace, says the improvements were necessary to keep the facility up to date.
"We're in competition nationally, regionally and statewide, so we need to remain competitive," says McManners."We're seeing a lot of improvements and investments as far as these venues are concerned, so these are important to be competitive."
A new multimedia gallery that takes viewers through Frank Lloyd Wright's process of designing the Monona Terrace was also featured at the event.
