MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The new CEO of Microsoft Corp. received his Master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Satya Nadella becomes the third CEO in the software company's 38 year history.
According to the Associated Press, UW-Milwaukee emeritus professor K. Vairavan remembers Nadella as a keenly intelligent student who was very focused on academics.
Professor Hossein Hosseini says Nadella had a "burning passion for learning." He says he always uses Nadella as a good example of student success, as someone who translated big dreams and hard work into a successful career.
Nadella has been with Microsoft for 21 years. He returned to the UW-Milwaukee campus last year to accept the Chancellor's Innovator Award.
