GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- A two-car crash left a deputy and his K9 partner injured on Tuesday.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, a driver failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Clifton Road and Highway 80 north of Platteville around 3pm on Tuesday. The driver pulled out in front of a deputy traveling on Highway 80. The deputy swerved to avoid a crash but was still hit.
During the crash, the K9 officer was in the squad kennel and was thrown forward. The dog was cut and sprained its leg. The deputy had a wrist injury. The driver of the other car and the child passenger were not hurt.
The driver, Betty Martin, 29, was issued a citation for failure to yield from a stop sign.
