MADISON (WKOW) -- Sand is being used on the streets since it is too cold for salt.
Madison Streets Division says the plow and sand crews have been out since the snow started to fall. They're focusing on the main routes, but will be sanding hills, intersections, and street curves throughout the evening.
When temperatures reach 15 degrees, crews will start using salt.
