Piano Playathon raises money for American Family Children's Hospital

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Customers at the West Towne Barnes & Noble enjoyed live piano music Saturday thanks to the 22nd annual Piano Playathon.

The event raises money for the American Family Children's Hospital. Young piano students from the Madison area collect pledges to play at the event. All proceeds go to the Child Life program at the hospital, which provides toys, books, and other comfort items to long-term patients.
The playathon is organized by the Madison Area Friends of Piano. The organization works to share their love of music and encourage others to play the piano. Chairman Connie Jones says the best part is knowing they are helping others while sharing their passion for music.

"This is students doing this for other students, and we really think that's special," says Jones. "We want everyone to love music as much as we do."
