MADISON (WKOW) -- The American Heart Association hosted its annual Heart Ball Saturday night.
The event is a fundraiser for the local chapter and one that celebrates the lives saved by important heart disease research.
Parents like Jacob and Laura Gill were recognized. Their two-year-old daughter Kennedy has already had two open heart surgeries in her first years and faces another when she turns three.
"We're blessed to be able to tell Kennedy's story and we're thankful she's had the great outcome she's had," says dad Jacob. "Without the support of the American Heart Association, five years ago, this wouldn't have been possible."
The event is a dinner and auction to raise money for the organization. WKOW is a proud sponsor. Meteorologist Brian Olson was emcee.
