Sauk Trail Elementary in Middleton to reopen Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Sauk Trail Elementary will be open on Tuesday after the school was closed Monday due to a frozen water main.

The district sent a message to parents Monday night notifying them of the move.

The message says district facility services staff members continue to repair the water main that froze and that it had not been fixed as of early Monday evening. The district says the main could be fixed by Tuesday morning.

If the main is not repaired by Tuesday morning, the school will still be open, but there will be some adjustments:

  • Watch for possible changes in student drop off in the morning. We may need to use the drop off area as our Bus Drop off.  If that is the case, staff will be directing traffic to drop off to the north and south ends of the school. Students will need to enter the building through the south doors. Staff will be outside assisting. For the safety of our students and staff please follow staff direction and avoid any coned areas.
  • Bag lunches will be the option for hot lunch.
  • Bottled water will be available.
  • Port-a-Potties and hand-washing stations are ordered and will be delivered in the morning, if needed. They will be set up in the gym. We will determine in the morning if gym classes can still be held there or if they will be in the classrooms.
