Graco recalling nearly 3.8M child car seats

Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (WKOW) -- Graco is recalling nearly 3.8 million car seats because kids can be trapped by buckles that may not unlatch.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received at least 80 complaints about the seats. Parents have reported using excessive force to unlatch the buckle, and in some cases, they've had to cut the straps to get their children free.

The recall covers 11 models sold between 2009 and 2013. Here are the models affected:

Car Seats:

  • Cozy Cline
  • Comfort Sport
  • Classic Ride 50
  • My Ride 65
  • My Ride 70
  • My Ride 65 with Safety Surround
  • Size4Me 70
  • My Size 70
  • Head Wise 70
  • Smart Seat

Harnessed Booster Seats:

  • Nautilus 3-in-1
  • Nautilus Elite
  • Argos

Graco is offering customers a replacement harness buckle at no cost. If you have one of the models involved, you should contact Graco customer service at 800-345-4109 (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.) or via email at consumerservices@gracobaby.com.
