Wisconsin vets wind up 2,700 mile walk

Posted: Updated:
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Two Iraq War veterans from Wisconsin have completed a 2,700 mile walk to California.

Tom Voss and Anthony Anderson publicized their walk, which began last August, as a way to raise awareness of post traumatic stress disorder and the need for help for vets.

They say the trip helped them deal with their own PTSD issues.

"You look back in your past, and my experiences with deployment and i got a chance to really dive into those things and work through them," said Voss.

He and Anderson say they'll continue working to change the stigma tied to post traumatic stress disorder and get veterans help.

Between them, they went through ten pairs of shoes as they walked from Wisconsin to the shore of the Pacific Ocean in California.

A documentary crew followed their entire journey and plans to release a film on the trip.
